4th of July at Lake Monticello

This year we decided to stay home and enjoy the festivities of the 4th of July celebration in our community. They had a parade, horseshoe tournament, pool activities, sand castle building competition (my favorite), lake swim, fireworks, and many more activities. It was so fun and relaxing to be enjoying the holiday right in our neighborhood. I think we will try to do it every year. My high school friend, Brian Claar, came to visit at the last minute and we had a great time.
